Made Up My Mind

I did a video on how overweight I am and posted it on you tube and on this blog. I became so disgusted with how I looked and felt that is when I decided that something had to be done. Therefore I joined my local 24 hour gym, next I went to the library to get a nutrition cook book, and finally I talked to the gym owner and posted an ad at the gym looking for a life fitness coach. I have had many calls about the coaching position and set up interviews for next week. Being healthy is something I have been most of my life until my wife and I began to have kids that is. Once the kids started popping out so did my waist line with all the processed foods I was eating along with my increased appetite for beer, before long I was nearing 300 lbs after weighing 210 pounds most of my adult life. What really opened my eyes was the fact that I was out of breath all the time while doing simple task like walking up stairs or chasing after the babies. I made the video and looked at the pictures and that was when I began to visualize a plan to transform this body into a healthy machine. I recently dropped 5 lbs and yes that felt good as it gave me confidence to continue on this healthy journey. I posted the recipe to lose 5 lbs  on this blog and hope it is an aid to anyone looking to get started with results right away so that they can gain confidence like i did to stick to the plan. If you haven't read the blog post for the recipe to lose 5 lbs i recommend you do it as any weight loss can boost your morale. Finally remember the battle is in your head with every success you gain confidence and strength to carry on till the battle is won.

Lower your blood pressure

I been trying to lower my blood pressure and after numerous attempts my doctor and I have come up with a solution for my hypertension. My doctor prescribed 20 mg of Amlodipine twice a day and 50mg of Carvedilol twice a day, these two drugs took my blood pressure down from 198 /120 to 120 / 82. I have tried a lot of concoctions and none have worked for me as I was usually met with some type of side effect like headaches or low libido. If you are suffering from high blood pressure see your doctor and mention these two drugs as they are inexpensive and very effective at reducing high blood pressure.

Lose 5 lbs in one day

I lost 5 lbs today and I thought I'd share how I did it.

Recipe to lose 5lbs in a day:

Rolled out of bed and began my 20 min workout with (Click --> the link to purchase from amazon) INSANITY DVD Workout 
Breakfast = 1 cup of black coffee made with my (Click --> the link to purchase from amazon) Keurig B60 Special Edition Brewing System and one banana. I also took as directed (Click --> the link to purchase from amazon) Jillian Michaels Fat Burner, Maximum Strength, MetaCaps, 56 ct.

Lunch = 1 turkey sandwich  from Panara on oat wheat bread and a salad w/ mandarin oranges

Took a half hour walk with dog and drank 20 oz of water

Snack = pear

Dinner = 1 grilled chicken and white rice with a side of mixed veggies
one bottle water

Bed time time to rest those muscles

When I woke up I got on my scale (Click --> the link to purchase from amazon) EatSmart Precision GetFit Digital Body Fat Scale w/ 400 lb. Capacity & Auto Recognition Technology and what do you know 5 lbs gone!

Day 1 is history

Today I decided to give CytoSport Muscle Milk, Chocolate, 2.47 Pound a try and I must admit this protein taste really good almost like chocolate milk. I mixed mine with water in this BlenderBottle® Classic 28-ounce Blue container with a few ice cubes. It was a long day I left work and went straight to the gym for an hour and did some cardio on the elliptical machine. I also got a fat analysis and I have about 30 percent body fat, so as you can see, I have my work cut out for me but with some encouragement and support I am sure everything will turn out fine in 12 weeks.
